How to Set Fitness Goals for the New Year

Sticking to a New Year’s resolution is like running a marathon. And just like marathons, many people drop off not long after the sound of the starting gun fades away. If you find yourself falling short year after year, it might not be the goals you are setting, but how you go about managing those goals.

You can achieve everything you want this year and we’ve compiled the following list of tips to help you make it across the finish line.

Set measurable goals

According to research published by the American Psychological Association, people who regularly monitor their progress are more likely to reach their goals. That’s why it is so important to choose a fitness plan that makes it easy for you to monitor and track your progress.

Forever’s F.I.T. program was designed to make goal tracking easy. There’s a program for every fitness level, whether you are looking to shed a few pounds, gain muscle or simply introduce a better diet and nutrition into your routine. Downloading the F.I.T. app makes it easy to track progress and follow along with the program. Learn more about F.I.T. here.

Set goals you can achieve with friends and partners

There’s nothing like a little friendly competition to keep you on track toward reaching your fitness goals. Sharing goals with friends can also be a great source of encouragement as you support and push each other onward.

Can you think of anyone in your life who could have similar fitness goals for 2019? Get others involved and work together to improve yourselves. Plan group workouts or hikes, share nutritious recipes and track each other's progress.

Make goals attainable

Set attainable goals in the beginning. For instance, you can commit to replacing one meal a day with a Forever Fast Break®  bar, or completing CLEAN 9 in the first month of 2019.

You can do the same thing with your exercise goals. Instead of writing down that you want to lose 20 pounds, you can set a more specific goal, like committing to go to the gym for an hour three times a week. You’re not only likely to meet your weekly goal, but even exceed your long-term objective.

Set scalable goals

This goes hand-in-hand with setting attainable goals. Every one of your small victories is another step toward a larger achievement. As you build strength, lose weight and increase endurance, your initial goals will feel routine and you will feel ready to take the next step.

Your exercise program will start to feel easier and easier as time goes on, which means you should turn up the intensity until that feels easy too, then crank it up again. Run longer or set a new time goal, lift heavier weights or try a higher intensity workout.

Give yourself the tools to meet your goals

Aside from setting your goals, make a list of the tools and resources you’ll need to give yourself the best chance of reaching your fitness objectives. For instance, if weight loss is an important goal of yours, think about what types of supplements or meal replacements will help you get there.

Forever Therm is a powerful supplement that boosts energy levels and helps give your metabolism a kick start. As part of a healthy, calorie-controlled diet, this innovative supplement can help accelerate your weight loss efforts.

A more active lifestyle also means you’ll need to make sure you are giving your body key nutrients. Drinking Forever Aloe Vera Gel® every day will promote healthy digestion and help your body absorb more nutrients.

Forever Move® is a groundbreaking, clinically-proven supplement for joint support, comfort and flexibility. Be sure to give your joints the fuel needed for longer, more productive workouts. Studies have shown the key ingredient can supports a healthy range of motion, promotes healthy cartilage and promotes faster recovery from exercise!
